I started tutoring formally in 2018 with one-on-one as well as small group sessions. I worked with college students, assisting them with elementary statistics, precalculus, and algebra. Most of my students were in their early 20s, but I also tutored older students that returned to school after initially pursuing their career. I am therefore comfortable tutoring both people with varied level of familiarity with the material

My tutoring style is based on first discovering the student's learning style. Some students prefer having real-world examples of the concepts they are studying, while others are comfortable discussing abstract concepts. For each type of student, I adapt my tutoring style. If a student doesn't know their learning style, I will help them discover it. My goal in tutoring is helping students become independent. I feel that I have succeeded if students need me less and less as we work together.
