Jessica Hickey - Tutoring

I obtained my goal of a M.S. in Psychology in 2018. Prior to that, I spent 8 years teaching middle school science to at-risk youth. I also received my ELL certification. This required me to come up with different methods of teaching as many of my students were on 4th grade reading levels.

I can tutor students who struggle in Middle School science. If you're a HS student struggling due to lack of mastery of MS science, please reach out. I am also well versed in History, English Literature, Sociology, Psychology and those who are struggling to write assigned papers in mandatory formats. My goal as a tutor is to help students from all walks of life.

If you choose me as your tutor, I will want to see your syllabus before we start. This will give me an idea of what concepts you have worked on & are currently working on. It will also allow me to understand what areas you're struggling in.

This site doesn't let me specify grade levels, so let me clarify a few things.

MIDDLE SCHOOL- I am able to tutor in Science, History, and English classes (reading comprehension, formatting, how to write a paper, etc). I will be able to help the student to not only write a paper that "checks all of the boxes" on the class syllabus, but teach the student how important it is to stick to the syllabus provided.

HIGH SCHOOL- I can help with English/Reading (comprehending assigned reading material & how to write a proper paper); History, Psychology & Sociology. If you're in a science class & you are unable to be successful due to a lack of foundation taught on the subject (ie. You didn't learn the basics in Middle School/don't remember the basics from middle school), I can help you.

UNDERGRAD/GRADUATE: I can help with ensuring that the paper is written in the correct format while meeting assigned objectives. I can ensure that citing sources have been done correctly; that sentence formation is concise.
