The Illini Tutor
About
I have been a software developer for well over a decade. I've written and published mobile apps for the iOS, Android and Windows 10 platforms. I know about logo design, product design, and developing a concept. I also have knowledge about web and desktop application development. If you've never worked with variables, objects or primitive data types, I can help you get those building blocks in place!
The name of my service is derived from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, one of the nation's top universities (especially in technology), where I got my degree!
When it comes to software development, there's nothing like seeing something I created work, particularly on a mobile device. I enjoy the process of coming up with a concept, experimenting with layouts and features, and forging an identity for the app. When you see your creation in the Google Play, iPhone, or Windows app stores, it's a kick!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
1. Find out what the student already knows. That will determine an appropriate starting point for concepts to present.
2. If applicable, find out what the student wants to know. Perhaps it's a particular knowledge base in order to pass a test or work on a class project. Or maybe the student has no idea of what they want - or is learning for the fun of it. Knowing this can help me identify specific concepts to cover.
