My teachers in high school picked up on me helping out classmates and encouraged me further, plus I remembered how it felt when a schoolmate taught me something

All kinds. Elementary to adults older than myself

Look for capable tutor U can communicate with. A good tutor talks AND listens.

An honest assessment of the amount of time they are willing to put in as well as the thoroughness of their particular type of study
