Strength In Numbers Tutoring Program

Growing up, I was afraid to be different. I thought it was easier to fit in with my friends, if I downplayed my passion for learning and the excitement that it brought me. I was homeschooled from 2nd grade until high school where I was afforded the opportunity to meet and learn from awesome teachers who believed in making learning fun and enjoyable. They introduced the concept of learning math rules, prepositions, and grammar through songs and rhymes.

My passion is to wipe away the fear that children have when it comes to math and science. Both subjects can seem daunting, especially during transitional years, but I truly believe that my sole purpose is to help children not be afraid to dive head first into math and science programs because they can be fun and educational at the same time.

I have been a tutor to elementary and middle school aged children for the past 3 years. I have experience with children with learning disabilities as well as those without. I believe that breaking down each math and science problem/question and putting it in everyday language not only helps the student learning the material, but the student actually feels as if they are grasoping the concepts.

My tutoring style involves music, turning math into songs and various activities that ease the student's mind when it comes to learning the more difficult subjects. I choose to focus on preparing the students for life beyong school, by ensuring that they understand the concerpts beiung taught versus teaching to pass a standardized exam. I pour everything into my students and love to see them and their gardes improve throught their academic careers.
