As a 7th grade Language Arts teacher, it excites me to see students understand what they are learning and grow to enjoy reading.
I have 3 years of experience as a classroom teacher and hold certificates in both English Language Arts & Reading and English as a Second Language in grades 4-8. I've also written and implemented multiple curriculums for students with IEPs.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
For new students, I like to spend time getting to know what areas the student is struggling with. Then the student and I can create a learning plan for the student to be successful.

Texas Certified Teacher in:
-English Language Arts and Reading, grades 4-8
-English as a Second Language Supplemental, grades 4-8
How did you get started teaching?
I became a teacher because I wanted to share my love of reading and writing with others.

I have worked with students in grades 4th-12th and also adult students.

Most recently, I helped a class of adult students improve their reading test scores by one grade level.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Any student looking to hire a teacher should make sure the teacher listens to their learning needs and can customize the tutoring to fit their individual learning style.
