Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Typically I meet the student for one hour long session (free of charge) to discuss goals, determine level, and decide how to best proceed. I want to best understand the student's learning style, and build a curriculum that suits their needs.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with a broad range of students including:
- College and graduate school applicants
- Students struggling in English, Language Arts, Grammar, and History classes
- ESL students
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I would advise them to select a tutor that will really cater the lessons to their specific goals, needs, and learning styles.
For example, if you are learning English as a second language, find a tutor that will discuss your favorite American TV show with you.
