What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Parents contact tutors with particular concerns. Usually, I ask students to read or write for me, as the case may be, and evaluate where to begin. This shows me their strengths and weaknesses and allows me to prepare my lessons. I also like to have a conversation with the students to see what interests them. This helps me to tailor the instruction to include their subjects of interest and hopefully their attention.
