About
Students come first!!! I have a plethora of training and experience in teaching, ranging from Pre-K learners through tutoring college students. My strengths are English (grammar and writing), music (piano and voice lessons), reading (comprehension, skills, and phonics), and general elementary education (math, science, social studies, etc.). I offer private tutoring sessions to improve and enhance academic studies, as well as teach private piano and/or voice lessons. I have a Bachelors Degree in Music and a Masters Degree in Education. I am a retired Texas public school teacher, having taught grades K-8. I also taught at private schools (Pre-k, 3rd, and 4th grades), and I have taught private piano lessons off and on since the age of 12! I hold a Lifetime Texas Teaching Certificate (All-level music, Secondary English). My experience and training speak for themselves, and my priority is my students!

How did you get started teaching?
I actually began teaching private piano lessons and playing the organ for my church when I was only 12 years old. I became the choir director when I was 13. That same year, I organized and directed a church children/ youth choir that grew from 6 members to over 30 members in less than a year.
God gave me a gift, and I was called to teach at a very young age.
What types of students have you worked with?
Students have ranged from toddlers through college students with learning disabilities. I have taught gifted children, children with learning disabilities, and students with physical challenges, including a blind student, and a student with Down's Syndrome -- all ages, all levels.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently made contact with a piano student I taught when I was in high school. He still plays the piano, and he sent me a picture of his grand piano that he now owns and plays. How rewarding!!! That's what it's all about!!!
