Allison B. says, "I have had the pleasure of knowing Rebecca since I was 12 years old. I was homeschooled for half a year and my mom found Rebecca to teach me the math curriculum. Little did we know that I would go to Rebecca every Wednesday for math tutoring for many years to come.
For the next 5 years and even into my college years I sat at her dinner table as she walked me through my assignments.
I never had any teacher that understood my brain as well as Rebecca did.
Math and I are like water and oil, we don’t mix...unless shaken. Rebecca never once made me feel incompetent or dumb. Instead, she tried to understand my thought process. She actually taught me about math. She taught me how math works and why it works. Even through those tough teenage years, when you think you know everything, she continued to study my “Know It All” brain. Teaching me the value of math and instilling in my brain little tricks or funny sayings that would help me remember an order to a formula.
Now, being a 25 year old woman and a teacher myself, I now teach those same sayings to my students. I was lucky and blessed enough to have a teacher that understood me and wanted to understand me. Thanks to her, I absolutely LOVE teaching Math.
Thank you Rebecca for teaching me the importance of math, being oh so patient with me, and inspiring me to teach.
