About
Hello! As an instructor of language, I strive to facilitate the vocabulary, strategies, and topics which are relevant and useful to my students. You will be speaking in every class.
I am a certified Spanish Acquisition Language from the University of North Texas. I have 9 years of experience teaching all levels of Spanish to non native speakers of all backgrounds. I am a native Spanish speaker.
What I enjoy the most is listening to my students talking since the first class.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I tailor the lesson to what they want and need to learn. I use teachnology, games, lots of conversation from day one.
I focus on building confidence by pronuncing words as native as possible and to learn content which is useful in their daily life.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified LOTE Spanish teacher by the TEA and I have taught Spanish for beginners and advanced students at the high school and college level.

I charge per session or I can build a package for a number of lessons for a discount.
How did you get started teaching?
I am a language acquisition teacher. I currently teach Bilingual children who are acquiring English as a second language.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have experience teaching Spanish to High School and Adult students. I teach English to adults and younger children.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I enjoy socializing with friends and family. I volunteer as an emotional coach for a group of women in my community, we get toegther every Saturday in the evening for a potluck and positive talk.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Language teachers must be native or native like speaking. Look for certified teachers because they are trained and knoq strategies to acquire a second language.
Not everyone that speaks a language will be able to teach it to others. It is an art, you need someone who understand the proces of language acquisition so they can understand your needs thus providing the support and instuction you specifically need.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
The stuedents need to ask if the teacher has experience teaching different levels of the language, also ask what method they use, it is writing and grammar, memorization, or interactive. Do the teacher have a curriculum or does it tailor it to your specific needs?
