My name is Brooke Kirkey and I have been an English teacher for 16 years. I have a B.A. in Print Journalism and M.Ed in Educational Leadership. I am highly qualified to teach all grade levels with certifications in PK-12, and a principal certification. Aside from my experience in the classroom with students of all ages and stages, I also have a passion for reading and writing. It is not only my profession, but what I truly love to do for fun in my spare time. I look forward to meeting and working with students to develop individualized tutoring that will help fill any gaps, and elevate their writing to the next level.

I am a dynamic English Language and Test Prep specialist with a decade of teaching and tutoring experience with students of all ages. I am TEFL/TESOL certified, have a bachelor's in political science from Georgetown University and a Master's in Education from University College London. My forte is helping students understand their strengths and areas of growth through targeted Interventions in order to prepare them for whatever learning challenge they are facing. I promote critical thinking, build confidence and show students how to become drivers of their own learning.

I have been a middle school ELAR teacher for ten years and have my Masters in English as a Second Language. My passions are reading and writing. If a student reads well, they will succeed in all classes. I am a certified teacher EC-4 and 4-8 with my ESL supplemental. I have participated in hours of professional development over the last four years and would like to pass on my knowledge to help struggling students.
