Mack Tutors
About
Howdy!
I’m a current third-year dental student at Texas Tech and rank in the top half of my class. I graduated from Texas A&M with honors in Biology, so I have a strong foundation in the sciences.
During undergrad, I tutored peers in Biology and Chemistry from my sophomore through senior year. Most of my experience was in group settings, though I also worked one-on-one with students. I can tutor anatomy, biochemistry, genetics, and other medical or dental related subjects. While I have primarily worked with college aged students in recent years, I am also comfortable tutoring high school students and adult learners. I’ve had many recent opportunities to teach both younger and older students in dentistry, and I feel confident helping learners of all ages better understand and appreciate the sciences.
My approach to tutoring is to create an open, supportive environment built on trust and enthusiasm. I believe students often become so focused on grades that they lose sight of true understanding, which is what really matters. I emphasize comprehension through visuals (especially in the life sciences) and practice questions. My goal is for students not only to know the correct answer, but to truly understand why it’s correct. With this approach, students can build confidence and genuinely grasp the material. I also offer plenty of resources, along with helpful tips and strategies, to support students in mastering the life sciences.
