Denton English And Math Tutoring
About
As a current college student with 4+ years of tutoring under my belt, K-12 material is still quite fresh in my mind. I have worked with a variety of ages, from elementary schoolers all the way to seniors in high school, and I specialize in test preparation, whether that be for an upcoming exam or the SAT. I like to get to know each student and parent individually to truly understand their goals and help them overcome the obstacles to achieve their full potential.

First, we'll assess what exactly the student is having trouble with to come up with a plan of action. We'll work according to the student's needs and deadlines.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been tutoring informally since late elementary; I am only now starting an actual tutoring business.

How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring my peers in math and English when I was in the fifth grade.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students of all skill levels: with my help, students who generally received Cs and Fs started getting As and Bs on their assignments.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It's important to find a tutor that is willing to work with you, not just for you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Try to get a feel for what types of questions you are getting wrong. If it's English, is it mostly grammatical errors, or is there a flow issue? If it's math, are there simple arithmetic errors, or is there a lack of understanding of the topic?
