Hi! I am currently a 5th grade teacher in the Irving school district. I have been a teacher for 19 years and I love my job! The stakes are so high for our students and I would love the opporunity to help! I will work with 3rd-5th grade students in all academic areas!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Initially I like to get to know my students with a relaxed conversation about their feelings towards school, their work, their struggles and their strengths. Knowing exactly where they are in regards to school will help me better be able to help them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a teacher for 19 years. I have taught 3rd-5th grades and am currently teaching 5th grade.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with GT, Special Education students as well as low income students.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have a student who is new to the United States. She was so excited when she was able to read 2 sentences in her book!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a tutor/teacher that you feel totally comfortable with and that you will be able to communicate with. Communication is the key!
