Hello! My name is Heather and I approach learning from a very fun and calm, understanding, yet efficient angle, in order to bring out your confidence in your academic goals and yourself! I have a bachelors degree in psychology and have been in the education field for over 10 years. I have developed my own curriculum covering current subjects for students and standardized testing prep, well as extracurricular lessons including but not limited to: career exploration, interests and talent subjects, and social emotional learning, home ec/life skills. Apart from everyday classroom teaching, I have taught English clubs that have resulted in higher grades, confidence in their capabilities, and higher love of reading for all students involved.
My experience also includes time completely overhauling and teaching classroom curriculum and management for an entire 4th grade student body, providing engaging, exciting and challenging lessons and activities to further ready them for the grade.
In my most recent public school educator position, I developed and taught core curriculum for high school students in a Texas Grant based after school program. During my time here I led lessons on public speaking, photography and art mediums, technology, writing and reading, career-based programs, marketing, science, and more.
