About
After getting my Ph.D. in political science, I have been working as a data scientist for the healthcare start-up Bauhealth since August of 2022. In this role, I use Python and R to apply my knowledge of data science to problems in the messy world of healthcare data.
Before taking on this role, I spent four years teaching while taking classes and writing my Masters thesis and doctoral dissertation, both of which utilized programming and data science. I served as an Adjunct Professor at Loyola Marymount University where I taught Empirical Approaches to the Study of Political Behavior. Before that, I served as a Teaching Fellow at UCLA where I taught Introduction to American Politics. Before that, I served as a TA for several courses. During the pandemic, I also served as a substitute teacher at St. Mark's School of Texas where I covered courses in History and English. Additionally, I have tutored five different people in five different subjects across five different levels of education.
I am comfortable tutoring any course K-12 with the exceptions of the following AP courses: Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, and Spanish. At the college level, I am comfortable tutoring anything in political science as well as anything at the introductory level with the exception of the hard sciences.
I am also happy to tutor people in something I might call "Practical Programming and Data Science" to prepare one to use Python and/or R for a research project and/or in the workplace.
