I have 10+ years of experience teaching Computer Science - AP and IB Computer Science, Web Development, Robotics, Game Making (Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, NXC, RobotC) and have been building programs and websites for businesses and schools for 20+ years. I understand and apply both time tested and currently emerging Neuro-Psych understandings of how we learn to my teaching (respect for working memory limitations, appreciation of the impact of cognitive load on knowledge acquisition, interleaving, retrieval practice... ), to help students understand and retain the concepts and skills they need to be successful. Many of my students are now working as software developers/engineers. I am certified to teach Computer Science by the Texas State Board for Teacher Certification.

There is nothing like watching the light of understanding dawn in a student's eyes. I am passionate about programming, problem deconstruction, and solution building, and I take great satisfation from watching my students experience the excitement of developing these coding super powers.
