About
We are more than a piano lesson! We study in small groups and our students have fun while they learn. Students enjoy off the bench activities as we learn to read music. We study music theory and history in addition to learning to play the piano. Students leave with smiles on their faces and are eager to come back for more.
We love helping each and every student reach for the stars! Everyone has a clif to climb and we guide them on their journey up their clif. In learning to play the piano, there is no elevator to the top floor, but we climb the stairs right along with each student. We have fun finding creative ways to get to the top! Our classes use cutting edge technology, they are innovative and fun. The studio owner has been successfully teaching for more than 35 years, and received a Master of Music degree from Lamar University in Southeast Texas. Students have earned high honors in local, state and national competitions and many of Jack's School of Music students have gone on to receive music scholarships in college. Students always receive high honors on state theory and history examinations. How did you get started teaching?
Teaching was a natural progression for me. When teenage friends were babysitting for spare change, I was teaching. I must profess, I affectionately call my students from that time "victims." Since then, music and business degrees have been obtained and many student success stories reign! An enormous amount of practical experience has been accumulated as a result of my passion for teaching.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with all kinds of students. The bell curve natrally prevails, and the average to above average student is who seems to be attracted to piano lessons. We work with extremely talented students and have help them reach their goals of auditioning and obtaining college music scholarships. We also work with children on the autism spectrum as well as children who deal with reading difficulties such as dyslexia, dysgraphia and others. Our goal is to work with whoever is on the bench and help that student reach their own potential.
