⭐I taught fourth grade for six years in a suburban Texas school district before taking time off the do a little exploring of my own.
⭐I love working with students and helping them to achieve personal breakthroughs through engaging activities that will be memorable for the student.
⭐I try to provide as much choice to students as possible. I employ a lot of gamification style activities in which students can choose how they would like to show me what they have learned.
⭐Cooperative learning and team building are important to me and I use them daily. I operate on the principles that every student wants to talk, move, and have fun so I try to incorporate as much of each into every day we have together.

I attended Texas State University to earn my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a teaching certificate in early childhood through fourth grade with an additional certification in English as a second language. I enjoyed Texas State University so much that I immediately applied and was accepted into the Teacher Fellows program there to earn my masters. Accordingly, I was able to complete my first year of teaching while attending graduate courses and completing an action research project. I earned a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in this program that also instilled in me the necessity for cooperative learning and community building in the classroom.
⭐When I am not working I enjoy reading, traveling, binging on Netflix, playing with my dog, and racing cars.
⭐It is currently one of my goals to visit all fifty states and all seven continents, but I have a LONG way to go.
⭐My current passion is creating engaging resources that meet the needs of a diverse group of students all while making teachers' lives easier by saving them time.
⭐I love having the ability to serve a greater number of students than just one classroom, but I do miss working with students on a daily basis.

I like to get to know my student's interest and learning style before getting started.
Our first session might include reading a picture book together before playing a learning game, and discussing what kind of books the student would like to read in the future.
I also like to get to know the family to better understand the student's learning goals. The more information that can be shared with me the better.
I am a certified teacher with experience teaching 4th grade (all subjects) in a public school. I am used to working with a diverse group of students and meeting all their needs by setting personalized learning goals.
