About
I have a number of passions, but there is nothing that draws me inexorably back to it like teaching does. It is my vocation.
I'm fun, very good at teaching and encouraging, and want to do nothing more than to help others gain power.
My favorite thing is the flash of light in a student's eyes accompanied with the unmistakeable "OOHHHH!" of a finally-dawning understanding. That's what I'm lookin' for here.

Frequently asked questions
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Linguistics, completed a special post-baccalaureate teaching program at UT Austin with a focus on Literacy, and read and write all the time.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My pricing is sliding-scale, from $25-50 for elementary, and from $35-75 for SAT/PSAT or similar higher-stakes tests.
How did you get started teaching?
I started with AmeriCorps doing afterschool programs for elementary and middle school, and then worked as an assistant teacher for a year at Cedars International Academy.
After deciding I wanted to really go for it, I got my elementary certification through UT Austin, and taught 4th grade for 3 years at Sunset Valley Elementary School. Since then, I have been tutoring and conducting informal classes for all elementary ages.

The best.
