About

I have been able to be successful as a pre-medical student at UT Austin while also pursuing a master’s degree in public health without the multi-thousand dollar prep courses constantly marketed to pre-meds. I provide a holistic approach to the pre-medical process with an emphasis in gaining the clinical experience and healthcare knowledge needed to prepare yourself for pre-med success.

I absolutely love to help high school students interested in becoming a physician and college students who are just starting their pre-medical journey. I am committed to not just providing guidance on course content but providing practical life advice and tips for success that content-focused tutors fail to provide. We can cover everything from biology, to creating fool-proof schedules, to the medical school application process.

    Frequently asked questions

I provide a free consultation where we will do a comprehensive overview of the student's goals to determine if we would like to work with one another.

I have experience working as a mentor to 20+ freshmen in a microbiology lab that was focused on antibiotic development. Also, I have trained new medical assistants in clinical settings and attended courses in leadership.

Generally, I like to meet with students to determine what pricing option works best for them. My rate varies from $20-$40 depending upon the type of meetings we decide to have (General Q&As vs. Practice Exam Review e.g.).

My first experience teaching was in high school. I served as a mentor to middle school students in a leadership program and absolutely loved helping them navigate their education. Since then, I have mentored in various settings from a microbiology lab to a school of human ecology.

As a mentor, I have worked with many students interested in health professions. I have primarily worked with studetns in the transitional stage from high school to college. This is such a critical time to seek out a mentor!

I have honestly enjoyed all the time at home that COVID-19 has allowed. I have loved the time I have been able to spend at home with my partner. Recently, I built a pottery studio in our garage for him and we have been making videos of him making pottery.

Look for someone interested in your long-term success and with experience in your intended career. While it may seem best to look for the experts in any given standardized exam, most exams just test one thing: critical thinking. So find someone who can serve as a mentor (rather than a tutor) that will help you develop those critical thinking skills

Really think about why you are seeking out help. Often students just want to do well on an exam. But why? When you have asked yourself why at least two more times, I think you will be in the right place to talk about your needs.
