I am currently pursuing my bachelor's degree in human biology so all of this knowledge is constantly being applied! Because I am surrounded by biology I continue to acquire more ways to simplify what can sometimes feel like a foreign language.
I love biology! Something I have heard a lot of people say is, there is "too much content" or "too much to remember" and I have definitely felt that way! BUT I think that biology can become second nature once you see how things overlap with one another and you start to make connections to other applications!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like for students to tell me what they are having problems with so I can come up with the best way to make the concepts come together. I also like to see what they are working on! I love employing analogies to remember things especially for intimidating topics!
