About
Teaching has always been a part of my life from earliest memories. You could say I am a teacher at heart. I started formal tutoring in 1998 at the UT Arlington, TX Math Clinic. There, I tutored all math classes offered at UTA up to Calculus III. This included Remedial Math, College Algebra I & II, Trigonometry, Geometry, Analytic Geometry, Business Math, Statistics, Business Stats, Calculus I, II & III. I also ran final exam review sessions for Statistics. I tutored at the Math Clinic all through college till I graduated in 2003 with my dual Biochemistry and Microbiology degrees. While working at the Math Clinic, I became a tutor with UTA SOAR (Students Obtaining Academic Readiness) Program as a Math and Chemistry Tutor which added Chemistry I and II for which I eventually became a Supplemental Instructor as well as for Business Statistics I. I also continued in that capacity until graduation.
Over the years, I worked at the high school level with the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Fort Worth, TX for 3 years with their afterschool tutoring program and summer programs as a Math and Science tutor and a science instructor respectively. I eventually became a classroom teacher for 2 years, teaching Integrated Physics and Chemistry, Chemistry, AP Chemistry and Physics. My role as an educator continued as a personal trainer and wellness life coach for the past 13 years.
Why do I do what I do? Simply put, I have a burning desire to see people succeed in their chosen pursuits. It's what underlies my passion to see everyone excel academically. I also have been blessed with a gift of being able to break down the most complex concepts into simpler, easier to understand bites. I understand that learning new concepts and subject matter can be very challenging and not everyone is Math and Science inclined. I also understand that everyone learns differently and at different paces. So, coupled with my gift, I am also very patient. My goal is that when you work with me, I will first help you overcome your fear or anxiety or frustrations with your class and then work with you to grasp and excel in your subject. This is my goal for every client I work with. It is my utmost desire that you succeed.
I graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with a double major with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I always start with a free consultation. The ultimate goal of the consultation is to determine if we are a fit for each other. During the consultation, the following are accomplished:
1) I determine a potential client's needs and goal. At what point in the semester are you? How far behind are you? Is the goal exam prep? etc.
2) How often will we meet?
3) Where will the sessions hold?
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
