What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our first lesson is centered around finding out what the student already knows, and where the holes are in their academic knowledge so I can determine what to focus on. We also speak about the student’s goals, and then figure out the best way to proceed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a bachelor's degree in health information technology. Over the last six years, I have been an independent tutor and helped students in various subjects including biology, nursing, and medicine among other health-related subjects.

The standard pricing for all lessons is $20/hr
How did you get started teaching?
I began tutoring consistently at Brooklyn College in 2015. I was presented with a volunteer opportunity to tutor health students and fulfill some requirements. My experience was a success and I quickly decided that tutoring was something I enjoyed. The following year I applied for a paid position and never looked back.
What types of students have you worked with?
I mostly work with college students pursuing biology, health informatics, medicine, public health, nutrition, and dentistry.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I worked with a student who really hated medical coding. After working with me for several sessions, his interest in the subject begin to grow. He started asking questions that are really in depth and he started achieve higher marks in exam and finally he turns from a C grade student to an A* student!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure your teacher is passionate about teaching and going through the process. It is important to highlight that teaching it nothing to be taken lightly, so it is essential to ensure your teacher is on board with going through every single growing pain on the way to success. Before hiring any teacher, it is advisable that the student reads the material, highlighting the important points and identifying the concepts they are struggling with. In this way, the tutoring session will be more productive for the student.

b) If I understand the material, will I be able to teach it and explain it?
