I have an eclectic range of interests and life experiences. My college education specialized in cinema studies and literature. I have worked professionally both as a film editor in Hollywood and a middle-school teacher in the L.A. Unified School District. Born on Long Island, NY, I graduated from the University of Southern California. Following college, I enrolled in an emergency teacher credentialing program, which led to a full-time assignment as a middle-school teacher in the L.A. Unified School District. Three years later, an opportunity to work in Hollywood launched a 35-year career as an editor of movies and television.

I now work exclusively as a private tutor, mainly in math. Few pursuits offer the kind of satisfaction gained from helping students learn and develop the skills that will help them succeed in life. I also enjoy bringing my own passions and experiences to the task, as it can spark curiosity and open up new avenues of interest.

My leisure activities include piano, hiking, birdwatching, and competitive swimming. I am an avid reader and have an irrepressible love of travel and outdoor adventure. I recently moved from Los Angeles, CA to a small community in the beautiful foothills of Eastern Tennessee.
