Arrowhead English Tutoring
About
I'm currently enrolled in East Tennessee State University, and I am attending school for English education! I know lots about English, and I've been looking for a part time job to make a little extra money for tuition so I figured why not do what I love? Teach! I know the basic foundations of all English concepts K-12, and I love helping children of all ages grow to understand and appreciate English literature!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to spend the beginning of the first session getting to know the students and learning what their strengths are. Then, I like to build on their strengths in order to teach them how to understand English concepts by relating them to things they might be more interested.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm attending college for English education, and I have done student teaching and substituting since I graduated highschool.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I like to negotiate with the learners in order to come to a price agreement that works for both of us!
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching as an assistant in highschool, and I've been doing it ever since!
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with students that don't have an aptitude for ELA, students with learning disabilities and struggles with language, and students who simply find English lame!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Go with your gut! You guys know what is best for you, so choose your teachers based on your impressions about them!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
They should think about what they struggle with, and they should discuss that with their teacher early on so they can work together to fix it over the course of the tutoring sessions!
