Sam's Math Tutoring
About
There is nothing better than helping a student have that "lightbulb" moment. Learning is all about positivity and confidence, and helping others believe in themselves and enjoy learning is why I love to tutor. I am currently a college student, and have tutored elementary, high school, and other college students since 2017.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I try to have a connection with the student and do my best to understand their goals, dreams, and interests. Every student is different and taking the time to get to know them a little goes a long way in helping them learn. From there, I allow the student to structure the content of the meeting to ensure we cover they material they most need help with.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have tutored professionally and as community service for the last 4 years. I started as a student in high school, when I tutored elementary students after school. Then during college, I got a job as a tutor and have been tutoring college students ever since. Overall, my positive personality and experience with a wide range of students are what I believe makes me a qualified tutor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I ask for a base rate of $22/hr. For longer meetings (3+ hours), an appropiate discount will be discussed.
How did you get started teaching?
I don't think I ever really "started"; I have always been working problems with other students growing up in school. This led its way to starting to tutor for community service in high school and finding that it was the perfect thing for me.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with elementary, high school, and college students. Although I have not yet worked with middle school or junior high aged students, I would love the opportunity to do so.
