What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The initial interview is extremely important. In talking with a student, I can quickly get a sense of their talents and what they can improve upon. I have taught thousands of students in my career and no two were the same, nor could the extact same approach be used from one to the other.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
24 years experience as a tutor. BA Tufts University, M.Ed Vanderbilt University.

$50 base fee, additional charges for SAT/ACT/GRE test preparation and for college application essay consulting.
How did you get started teaching?
I started tutoring straight out of college as something to do until I found my "true passion" and then I realized teaching itself was my true passion.
What types of students have you worked with?
All kinds, from 3rd through 12th grade. The majority of students I have worked with were gifted, and I have a lot of experience working with students with various learning disabilities, especially ADHD.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
It's 2020, has there been one? If so I definitely missed it.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find someone who is capable of adapting to YOU; as a tutored student you shouldn't have to adapt to your teacher. You already have to do that at school.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Don't hold anything back; your tutor isn't someone you need to impress or be embarrassed in front of. Your tutor's job is to help you and your specific needs, so the more you can articulate those needs, the better.
