Brain Things!
About
I am intrigued with the human mind. I love engaging with others about sciences, psychology, mental health, neurology, and nutrition.
I have a bachelor's degree in psychology and nutrition and a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling with a specialization in addictions counseling. I have completed three internships within my community and feel honored to be trusted with their hardest moments.
Psychology doesn't have to be complicated, in fact, it can be fascinating if given the right information or concepts that pique the interest. Let's work together to break it all down!
This is a judgment-free zone and a safe space to ask the questions you might not ask in class. I'll meet you where you are within your learning. In here, you get to decide.
Working with students is my passion and my calling. One of my favorite things about teaching is simplifying complicated materials and watching the students light up with excitement when they "get it". I have fun teaching and I believe my students have fun learning.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to begin by assessing what knowledge foundation we are starting with. I believe it's important to understand how the student learns best and adjust to their methods. Building rapport with the student is important for breaking down the communication barrier.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught online since 2018. I have a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling and a specialization in addictions counseling. I also have a bachelor's degree in psychology and nutrition. I have completed three internships within these fields, throughout my community, and have real-world application experiences.

How did you get started teaching?
I began teaching online in 2018. Not too long after that, I began working with a second company online and have been teaching with both companies ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students that speak little to no English from foreign countries. I have also worked with children between the ages of 3-18 for many years, in person.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I would make sure there is mutual rapport and it is a safe space to discuss anything of concern. Make sure you and the teacher communicate well for transparency.
