Frequently asked questions

The first steps in taking on a new student are always evaluating their current understanding and capability. From there, we can focus on your weaknesses and the things you need most. Got a paper due and you've no idea how to write it? Let's take a look together and figure it out!

I have an AS degree from Chatt State Community College and two years of a four years degree in English: Creative Writing completed. Not to mention - an overwhelming passion for the written word!

My standard price is 17$/h.

I got started teaching simply by being known as good at what I do. Word of mouth does carry; I have used this to my benefit. I have tutored in subjects other than English as well, but English is by far my strongest subject.

I have worked with a wide range of students, from being a camp councilor for the Boy Scouts of America to helping adults ready themselves for math exams.

I was recently honored to read my poetry for a large audience and it was well received. Poetry is a passion of mine and the indulgence was incredible!

Look for someone who has the time and willingness to put the effort in that you need. One must always remember that the subjects of today are not always the subjects of yesterday. Required reading may be different. Therefore, in order to keep up on the subject you are studying, a tutor may often have to put in extra hours studying up to be able to help you.

First of all, take a good look at where you might be losing points in your writing. Is it your reading and comphrension skills? If so, we may want to focus on tools to organize your thoughts. Is it your grammar? If so, returning to the fundamentals is always encouraged. Good grammar is easily the hardest, yet most rewarding skill for most students to have. There are many ways to improve upon this and I'm happy to help you learn.
