What can I say? English has really been my world, but I have to say that my very favorite project was helping a third grader create her very own tall tale booklet! From the initial planning to the finished project, what an achievement! We had so much fun, and the project was so precious and outstanding. For me, the greatest reward is when you open the door of language for children. At this age, you can impress upon them how completely cool English / Reading is. With understanding comes curiosity, and with curiosity comes the ability to take in a great book, write something new and magical, understand more about the world, and ultimately realize one's greatest potential. Although this is mostly fun and exciting stuff, it does come with standards, discipline, and expectations, but once again, have no fear, for the good news is that I am here to help with that commitment.

Currently, I am looking to work part-time. I am engaged in a full time day job Monday through Friday as a logistics coordinator, which runs from about 8 am until 5 pm. I am hoping to work evenings, perhaps 7 pm as a starting point, and I am open weekends as well as needed. If required, I can even zoom in for an hour from lunch!

From a young lady who began reading and writing nonstop since I was just a little one, I have always possessed a great understanding of and admiration for English, and I have always desired to share that with others. It would be my great pleasure to share my knowledge and passion in order to not only help you achieve in the subject, but with hope, to fill you with a passion and joy for this subject as well. May the possibilities be endless!

Nothing brings me more joy that being able to help others grow and succeed. In my opinion, English is particularly important because it is the gateway to the world. Through language, we learn about so much more, from literature to human nature to history, science, and more. And through language, we release our potential, the potential to create and to reach others. However, English is a major barrier to so many and with this barrier, we will certainly face limitations, but with the proper guidance, that is no problem. Helping others to grow and develop this critical language skill opens up endless possibilities, and I love guiding my students every step of the way and getting to be a part of that awesome growth. In the end, if people give this subject a chance, I think they will realize that it is actually the coolest invention ever created by mankind. What child doesn't want to read their favorite fantasy novel or comic and dream big? Who can say honestly that they lack entirely the urge to create or to know more than what they can find on their television screens? That's what I enjoy the most, opening up a brand new world to people that was limited before and maybe even shut off completely, ending whatever struggle they may be experiencing, and showing them how this can be a really good thing.

    Frequently asked questions

First, I find what interests them. It is important to realize that each student is his/her very own unique person. When I know what interests the student, it is easier to find which approach to take to help them become more engaged with the material. It also keeps things fun and interesting. Once I've warmed up to the student and gained their confidence, I can more easily get to the bottom of whatever help they are requiring. The key is to remember that everyone is his or her very own unique human being. Moreover, it is completely natural to have areas of strengths and weaknesses, and understanding that makes all the difference. After all, we are all human.

I have an English degree with writing and I have utilized both technical and creative writing in my career, education, and hobbies. I have provided tutoring and guidance for both children and adults.
