Hello!
My name is Gina and I am a language specialist in Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and French.
i grew up multilingual and have had a passion for languages since a young age. I later went on to earn a masters degree in the four languages (Romance Languages and Literature).
i have been teaching and tutoring since 1990- adults and children, classes and private lessons, in-person and online. I teach language for business and travel , and help students with class work.
Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, and French are all part of my everyday life. Besides teaching and tutoring, I do translation and interpretation, give foreign language tours, and am involved in numerous conversation groups, book clubs and cinema clubs. I travel extensively as well.
My emphasis is always on how to acquire a language as a native speaker would, how to make that language a part of life. My goal is to get my students to the next level and to share with them my passion for languages.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I ask the student what their experience or level is, and what their goals are. I have adult students who are learning the language for business, travel, or simply just because they love it. I have college and school-age students who need tutoring for a class, a test or as extracurricular learning.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i hold a BA and MA in Romance Languages and Literature (Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, French)
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Patience is always necessary when learning a language. The keys are repetition, listening and practice- a little everyday.
