Hello! My name is Amber Myers and I am currently a Kindergarten teacher. I have worked with early childhood students for over 7 years, including ages 2 years to 6 years. I attended the College of Charleston and received my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. Currently, I have 18 credit hours towards my Masters degree in Literacy Intervention and will continue those classes at The Citadel. Creating lessons that will help your student grow in Alphabetic Awarness and phonics is one of my prime reason for becoming a Kindergarten teacher. The feeling that a student is achieving sounds and learning how to put them together is a proud feeling for the student and teacher. I also can help with basic math skills, counting and numbers. Other skills like cutting, and becoming more independent can be learned too! I am here to help your student achieve in early childhood!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A first meeting will be setup at no charge to see how well the student interacts with me. I will have some questions for the parent and student to answer. A unit would be planned out based on a goal that we set for the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors in Early childhood from the College of Charleston. I have 18 credit hours towards my masters in Literacy Intervention and Coaching and will finish my degree in Fall of 2021. I currently have 7 years of working with early childhood students and 3 years of public school teaching Kindergarten.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The first meeting will be free. A question air for parent and student will be given and a goal will be set for the unit to be planned out.
For 30 minutes the price would be $20 and for 1 hour it would be $30.
How did you get started teaching?
When I graduated from highschool, I had a passion for working with children. I started doing summer camp and after school programs at a private preschool. Here is where my love for students and learning grew.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students that need speech services, Special Needs, and bilingual students, mostly speaking Spanish.
