Spanish Tutoring With Profe Lytle
About
I love watching students grow in their language skills. By utilizing an eclectic approach which incorporates speaking, listening, reading, writing, and culture, I help students understand more than simply grammar. One-on-one tutoring allows me to really get to know my students so that lessons can be tailored to meet their specific learning needs.
I taught high school Spanish for 17 years, levels 1, 2, 3, and AP. I am AP Spanish certified, and my students earned a 100% pass rate the last two years I taught.
I have a Bachelor's in Spanish Education and a Master's in Teaching English as a Second Language.
I have given private tutoring lessons to high school students in the past.
I love watching students grow in their language skills. My favorite moments are when a student has been struggling with a concept, and it finally clicks. The way their eyes light up is priceless!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I speak with the student to discover what s/he feels are his/her strengths and weakness in Spanish. I also like to reveiw student work, learn what grades the student is earning on projects/tests/quizzes/daily work, and visit the teacher's website (if s/he utilizes one).
Based on this information, we begin to work on skills which will not only help raise the student's grade, but will allow them to better understand Spanish so that they can do better with new material presented in class.
I help students develop study strategies and techniques, which will help them in not only Spanish, but other classes, as well.
Whether a student needs help completing homework, studying for tests/quizzes, managing larger projects, or learning vocabulary, I have numerous strategies that I utilized in my own classroom to help.
