About
I have been in the education field for 30 years working in ESL, college level instruction of English and then as a therapist for learning disabled students. I hold a PhD with my focus of study being on the subconscious and how it can hinder learning and healing. Included in my studies is the research of three-dimensional clay modeling as a therapeutic tool to reach the subconscious and improve learning and retention of information.
I am trained in a therapy approach that seeks to correct learning disability symptoms that hinder a learner from reading/writing/spelling at grade level. I have experience with every type of learner and understand how to tailor therapeutic tools and learning styles to create an individualized learning experience for every client.
I enjoy working one-to-one with students since their learning experience can be so easily adjusted to their immediate needs. I love the boost of self-confidence that comes with understanding more about their learning styles and how best to navigate reading and writing so they can improve quickly. Combining the therapeutic approaches I use with their schoolwork brings quick success.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I assess the student during the first session. I also like to establish goals and find it a powerful way for the student to hold himself/herself accountable.
