Hello everyone! My name is Nima! I graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Clemson University's Calhoun Honors College.

School is hard! And it only keeps getting harder! That's why it is necessary to build the right habits and make the right adjustments to strive in school. The thing is, not everyone, myself included, can just "understand" everything and make the necessary changes for success. That is why I want to be your/your child's tutor! I have just recently graduated college and know what is expected from teachers/professors in today's education. When one-on-one tutoring, I make sure that I am flexible and help teach in the specific learning styles of each individual student. Some students can skip steps, others need every single one written out and explained, some just need confirmation they’re on the right track. I make sure I do not give my students the answers; instead, I ask open-ended questions. I am a large advocate of exercising metacognition in tutoring sessions, meaning, if a student's of mine says they understand the concept at hand, I will ask they to explain it back to me in their own terms. I strive to encourage a growth mindset and positive attitude, no one is bad at something, they just need more practice!

I have one year of teaching/tutoring experience. I worked as a Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) leader for Clemson University's Academic Success Center, teaching General Chemistry I, and as a private tutor for Organic Chemistry I. As a PAL leader, I would monitor and instruct classes from 5-25 students on General Chemistry I, providing them worksheets and practice problems to reinforce their understanding. Additionally, I held my private tutoring sessions after school where student's could come for any homework help.

Unfortunately, this position will only be part-time, as I am heading to dental school in June, but for the next 5-6 months, I am free and committed to helping you/your child achieve their goals academically.
