About

- I taught english overseas for two years in South America , China, and Moracco.

- I was the first to graduate from Benedict College (Columbia,SC) with a Transportation Engineering Degree.

- I've worked in construction as a contractor/ freelancer

- I ventured off to Westwood Highschool where I became a Math teacher (Geometry/Pre-Algebra) .

- I love learning new things, while focusing on the student and the coursework that they struggle with most they will learn about other cultures , they will become confident in their work, and proficient because I am willing to take as much as time as needed to assist. I want to mention that I specialize in teaching students with learning disabilities of all types!

I enjoy the excitement I get from a student when they are able to grasp the concept of a lesson, and independently do it on their on. Learning excites us , but becoming proficient build confident in the student . I love building our students confidence through course work !

    Frequently asked questions

Step1: I typically get to know thet student before jumping straight into the work. I want the student to feel as comfortable as possible with what they aren't their best at. That way, they feel comfortable allowing me to make them better at it. I like to engage the family supporting the student so that we have a connection, thats both family oriented and comfortable.

Step 2: I give my new students little task to report to me to ensure that we sustain a great tutor and student relationship. This way our time is utilized to create an astute student, and not time wasted trying to get the student engaged. For example: Ice Breakers (lets make plans for our future selves before class starts, setting goals at the beginning of class both long term and short term, etc.). Creating progress boards (I usually provide all materials for little things like that).

****Lastly, I spend extra time untaxed time with new students, and their families because I want to genuinely help them create a progression plan ! I speak with the parents to get all of the information that they would like me to grasp about the student; So that I can work with the student at a pace, and in a way that best suites them.

I started teaching in South America. I was offered the opportunity, because of all the accomplishemnts I had at Benedict College. I was the first to graduate from Benedict C]ollege with a Transportation Engineerign Degree. I graduated within 3 years. During my years in college I interned for Tiny Techz LLC. While working with Tiny Techz we were often appointed to visit engineering classes (STEAM) at local highschools and middle school.

I was able to get my creative juices flowing in those settings. We challenged those students in every mathematical way possible. We built rollercoasters from scratch, used google simulated programs to create video games, and more. I was very excited about this internship, and wanted to teach every since.

I was able to take my talents overseas, and It was such a challenge teaching students who do not know my native language. I love challenges. I went from teaching internationals, to also teaching and aiding special needs students and students with learning disabilities.

Westwood Highschool offered me a math aide position to work solely with students that have learning disabilities such as (ADHD, Bi-Polarism, Autism, and more). These were my most challenging days teaching, but it made me so much more confident in my methods, much more patient with each student, and I plan to give all of my students the best.
