Hi, my name is Debbie E. and I am an NILD professional certified educational therapist (PCET) and also a special education teacher. I have taught students with a variety of disabilities but six years ago I became an educational therapist with a desire to help students with learning challenges to reach their full potential. I love seeing students make progress and overcome struggles they have dealt with for a long time as I implement the various techniques that NILD therapy offers. I not only help a student learn new skills, but for students with a diagnosed learning disability, I use techniques that help to "rewire" the brain to work more

Lastetrius, known by her students as Ms. Lala, absolutely loves working with children. She has experience with children in elementary school, as well as early childhood. During the school year last year she worked with the organization City Year to bring struggling 3rd and 4th graders up to grade level and beyond with ELA and math skills. This experience increased Ms. Lala’s passion for education, and she truly enjoys encouraging children to be their best. She believes that every child is capable of achieving their goals with consistent motivation and strong effort. Her approach is both structured and thorough, while at the same time fun. S...

Suzy is so knowledged and had some great tools/tricks for our smart boy with dyslexia. She treated him with respect and made sure to get to know his interests to make the extra tutoring time less of a chore. He actually enjoyed his time with her. Suzy encouraged him and gave him the space he needed to think before giving him a hint. That is a frustration for him.... when others jump in with a hint or the answer before his brain can find the route he needs. Suzy asked him questions about how he thinks and respected his answers. She encouraged him to build on what he knows and that built resilience. She also was amazing in helping us (his parents) with resources we did not even know existed! I was able to go to the school district and request my son have access to these resources to support him in middle school. My son, who was behind 2.5 grade levels has made honor roll! We credit Suzy for being a part of building his confidence as a capable learner. We highly recommend Suzy! My son says, “Oh ya! If you need a tutor, pick Ms. Suzy!”

Ms. Jamila is an exceptional tutor! In the time my 5-year-old has been working with her, I’ve witnessed remarkable growth. She has a unique ability to connect with children and make learning enjoyable. My child’s confidence, phonics skills, and enthusiasm for reading have significantly increased, thanks to her engaging approach. Ms. Jamila transforms letter sounds, rhyming, and early reading into fun and accessible activities. Her patience and nurturing nature have truly made a difference in our lives, and we are incredibly grateful for her dedication!

I like Ryan because he is relatable. He is a good teacher but switches things up because he is still a young adult. I think hes able to teach me because hes still in touch with modern games and music. I find it fun even to learn from because its nice to be able to relate to a teaching figure. --- Kieran
