About

My name is Alexis (Ali) Cellars and I am currently teaching at an alternative learning program in a K-2 classroom. I work with students who have many different learning levels and differentiate instruction for them throughout the day. I have experience working with the Fundations program as well as engageNY/Eureka math. I am also licensed as a elementary/special education teacher in the state of RI. I also love to make learning fun with the hopes that I will be able to make you, or your child, love to learn!

My favorite part about my job is watching students grow. I feel a great sense of pride and achievement when I see my students understand new concepts. I also love to build their confidence in themselves so that they learn to take pride in their own work.

Frequently asked questions

On the first day I would start off with a getting to know you activity and then start benchmark assessments.  From there I will review the scores and the area where students need the most intervention.  This will then lead to me developing lesson plans that align to the Common Core State Standards as well as incorperating evidence based practice.

I recieved a degree from Providence College in Elementary/Special Education.  I also obtained a license in this area from the state of Rhode Island.  In additon, I am currently teaching a Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade classroom.

I charge $40 an hour.  It can be prorated for half hour increments.

I started when I entered colleged because I was looking for a way to make the world a better place.  I wanted to help change children's live for the better.  As I took classes I realized that the best way to create equality and give children a better future is to give them an education.  It is the greatest tool someone can have and is something everyone should have equal acess too.

During my college career and during my professional career I have worked with a variety of students.  I have work with students who are intellectually impaired, learning disables, behavioral disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as gifted students.
