In my seven years of experience with teaching reading and writing, I've found that students often feel overwhelmed by language tasks such as

--understanding what they read,

--remembering what they read,

--constructing sentences, and

--composing paragraphs and essays.

Often, the missing ingredient is enjoyment.

Reading and writing are all about the joy of communication. Once we unlock that joy, we begin to gain confidence.

And then assignments that used to be discouraging chores become actual fun.
