English And Writing Tutor
About
I'm a college student studying to be an English teacher. Within my own education, I am sent to schools in Rhode Island for my practicums, teaching anywhere from middle school to high school. During my time at PC, I work in the Writing Center, helping out my peers anywhere from the brainstorming process to a polished draft. Back in high school, I flourished in English - I even won my school's "Excellence in English" award! Since I am still a student myself, I'm able to empathize and relate to the students I tutor, making the process even more efficient and enjoyable. All of this is to say: I love what I do, and I'm really good at doing it.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Before we get into the paper itself, I like to ask my student how they are doing. Then, I like to get some background on the assignment they are working on. I often find that when students are stuck with writing, it's because of the pressure they feel to present perfect wording. However, when I simply ask them what they're trying to say in the paper, it comes out so clearly! This is why I always start tutoring appointments with dialogue, and then get into the actual paper or assignment.
