About
As a certified bilingual teacher, I have worked in urban and suburban settings. I have experience tailoring curriculum to fit my students' needs and providing individualized instruction to remediate and accelerate.
I accomplished this dream in a foreign land after arriving in the US at age 12. In teaching, each day presents a new opportunity and a clean slate. What I enjoy the most is working with students of varying abilities because that presents challenges, which in turn requires me to tailor my teaching style and strategies to meet their needs.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Upon starting with a new student, I assess their abilities (formally and informally) in order to create a learning plan with a detailed range of topics that need to be covered along with a timeline, if necessary. During our sessions, I prepare lessons based on their individualized learning plan. Additionally, as much as possible, I reccommend supplementary resources students can use to reinforce and practice what we have learned.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Professionally, I obtained my BA in Childhood Education, MS in Special Education and an Advanced Certificate in Bilingual Education; I am committed to learning continuously. Since I began my long-term maternity leave last year, I have been soaking up time with my baby while taking advantage of technology to continue practicing my profession through personalized tutoring.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I don't have a standard pricing system because I believe my rate should vary based on the service I will provide you and your commitment to working with me.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with children as young as 6 years old and adults ranging in language ability from A1 (beginner) to C2 (proficiency) in formal Spanish instruction (e.g., reading. Omprehension) as well as conversational Spanish and formal translations.
