LGBT+ Math Tutoring
About
Growing up with a math instructor for a step-father, seeing his determination and drive inspired me to follow in his footsteps. I promise results, and will adapt to your or your child's learning patterns to ensure that not only will tests be passed, but that the concepts are understood and practiced. While I am new at this, I don't doubt my abilities or my drive, and I look forward to seeing you prosper! Important note: I am a safe space for the LGBT+ community as I am pansexual and transgender myself. I'm looking to help those from pre-kindergarten to algebra at this time, but might expand my services in due time.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
The first thing I do is truly get a grasp of how a student learns; teachers are restricted to certain teaching styles to go out to the masses, but as a tutor I am able to hone-in on how a student learns and base my teachings upon it. Following this, I then go over the concepts that the student understands, and what they could learn from me.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an associate's degree in network engineering, and in both the academic and career fields, I have been seen as a strong leader and an excellent teacher.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I'm going to be charging 20$/hour for elementary math and 25$/hour for 6th grade through algebra. I'm willing to do a sliding system for those who need it, depending on circumstances.
How did you get started teaching?
When I was taking math classes for my degree, the classes required were below my level at that point, so I had used my knowledge to help out my fellow peers who were struggling. Alongside this, I worked my way through various jobs to coaching or training positions as well.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I'm honestly very impressed with how we as a society have come together through these troubling times, and the way different groups have brought upon changes in the way we view current events.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for an instructor who is looking into how you learn and think, don't underestimate your chance to work with someone who's going to work with you, not someone who is going to teach at you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
1. What do I understand right now.
2. Is there anything about the problem that I have even a concept of knowledge for?
3. How can I ask my teacher to explain things different to me?
