About
I am not your average English teacher. Although the basics are required, children need to learn how to think critically while also dreaming and believing they can be anything they desire. I am passionate about creative writing and find reading material that match my students. While teaching English, I will also show my students how to have a positive mindset and believe in themselves. I have been an English teacher for 13 years and have my BA in English and a Masters in Reading. Both degrees were earned at Marywood University. I am also a mother of two boys and a veteran of US Army.

Every year I start my classes the same way. I get to know them and allow them to get to know me. I learn about their past teaching and learning styles and assign an autobiography to help me learn more about each of my students.

I teach 7th through 12th grade but have also worked in a daycare and have tutored my own children.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Each year I teach a poetry section and submit my students’ poetry into a poetry contest. Every year I have students being published, and each year the numbers increase.
