Miss M Tutoring
About
I am a recent college graduate and certified teacher. I have a degree in Elementary and Special Education. I am passionate about helping students connect with the matieral in order to create a strong understanding. Each student is given a inidivualized tutoring plan that I create in order to increase that student's understanding of the material.
I have been tutoring for a year now, but have been working in schools for 3 years. I can meet at your local library to create an academic enviromnet for the student, which I find is more conductive to learning.
There is nothing more rewarding than see a student finally understanding a topic after struggling. I know that it can be hard to understand certain things, and I want to be a supportive teacher for my students. I enjoy being able to create an environment where students can feel free to fail because they know that if they work they can succeed.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will speak with the student's parent to decide which subject area will be the focus. Depending on the age of the student, I may ask to contact the student's teacher or prior tutor. I will administer a baseline assessment to determine where we will need to spend the most time. I will map out a lesson plan based on the predicted number of tutoring sessions. At the end of the plan I will reassess the student and write up an honest summary of the tutoring sesssion and final assessment.
