    Frequently asked questions

At the Dyslexia Diagnostic & Treatment Center, we begin with a thorough evaluation to determine academic levels, strengths, and weaknesses. A treatment plan is then devised, and then we begin helping your child to improve his or her reading skills!!  At the Dyslexia Diagnostic & Treatment Center, we offer a free introductory session to help your child get acquainted with Taylor, our wonderful Reading Specialist.

I am a Licensed Child Psychologist, and have worked 25 years as a School Psychologist. Taylor Cole, our Reading Specialist, is a highly experienced and licenced teacher who engages wonderfully with her students.

I worked for 10 years as a School Psychologist for Dade County Public Schools in Miama, FL, and then in PA. I continue to consult with local school districts and work daily with parents and their children.

I have addressed all types of reading difficulties including what is referred to as 'phonological dyslexia', which is the most common form of dyslexia.

I have events daily where I am so pleased in helping a parent to navigate through improving their child's reading skills, working with school districts, and improving their self-confidence.

Meet with them first to see if it's a good fit. We offer a free, 30-minute intro session in that respect. Of course, you need the Reading Specialist to actually be a specialist and have a solid foundation in remediation.

We help parents to answer that question. Every child is different and their needs are vastly different. Our goal is to ensure that children's academic performance improves from our work with that child, but also from the advice we give to parents about how to navigate through the school system.
