Academic Tutoring With Kirsten
About
Tutoring is something that I started as an occasional job but realized it is something I have a passion for. I feel education is power and my goal is to empower students to the best of my ability.
I started my college career in pharmacy and after several years, I decided to purse my career elsewhere. Ultimately I decided to begin studying to become a nurse. Now, I have just finished nursing school and will begin my career as a registered nurse in an intensive care unit. I want to continue to further my education, though, and ultimately plan to become a nurse anesthetist.
I truly enjoy educating and helping students achieve their goals. I look forward to helping you!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First and foremost, I need to determine if the student has any deadlines or test dates that they need to meet. I then like to discuss the student's current status in the subject that they need to be tutored in. I like for my students to make a list of strengths and weaknesses in content in order to really determine where exactly they are struggling. From there, I like to then assess the style of learner that they are in order to determine the best possible methods and material to use for success!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied pharmacy for approximately 6 years following high school; I helped tutor classmates in various subjects related to maths and sciences. I then decided to apply to nursing school, where I am a member of the honors college and deans list. I have been tutoring professionally for approximately 2 years in a wide variety of subjects and do my best to help my students achieve their goals!
