What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When I first meet a student, it is important for me to get to know them as a learner. Our first session will include time to ask questions about what they enjoy, how they like to spend their time, and in what settings they feel they learn best. From there, I will use formative assessment to judge what needs to be the next step in learning. Working with the families is just as important; having a clear understanding of what the family expects from our time together is also necessary for a successful tutoring partnership.
