You will be really delighted of learning Spanish. My goal as a teacher is to motivate my students to learn and find meaning in what they do in every class. I strive to show them the benefits of learning a foreign language and the advantages of bilingualism. But above all, I try they find a connection between what they learn and what they do.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Identifying his/her/their learning goals and needs. Recognizing his/her/their learning style and interests. Establishing lessons according to his/her/their schedule and targets.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia, I earned a bachelor's degree in Modern Languages from the University of Atlántico and a law degree from the University of La Gran Colombia. I also hold a master's degree in Literary Studies from the National University of Colombia with a dissertation on Afro-Colombian writers Candelario Obeso and Jorge Artel. As a doctoral student at Temple University, my research interests focus on Afro-Latin American literature and gender studies. I am interested in examining the roots and characteristics of contemporary Afro-Latin American literature produced by female authors to explore its relationships with Africa and the African diaspora cultures.
In addition to my career as a literature scholar, I have also published creative writing works as part of my commitment to narrating the stories and experiences of black women and girls in Latin America. My creative work includes "Ensueño negro del África mía," a poetry book, and two children's literature books: "Mamá Avó" and "¿En dónde estás Masmelo?".
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes. My rate is $30 dollars per hour plus $5 dollars transportation fee. If the class is online or I don't have to travel, students don't have to pay the transportation fee.
